We will mount the photovoltaic modules for power generation on the roof of our factory. To do this we need a steel substructure. Many thanks to Doma vkw Energietechnik GmbH for the high-quality substructure.
We generate the necessary heat for our tray dryer with solar thermal energy. We store the heat in a 3 m³ hot water tank and can thus supply our plant with 60°C evenly. Forstner Speichertechnik GmbH supports us with many years of know-how in the technical design and will produce the jointly planned storage tank for us. Many thanks to Forstner Speichertechnik GmbH for providing the hot water storage tank with integrated heat pump.
For the power supply with photovoltaic we need an inverter, which is provided by Fronius. In addition, Fronius would like to support the school education of the children of our cooperative and has packed 300 sturdy school backpacks with writing materials for us. We will ship these backpacks to Uganda together with our production equipment. Further measures to improve education are being evaluated with the local teachers. We want to thank Fronius GmbH for the great interest in our project and the valuable support.
The cooperative tries to equip its farmers with rubber boots and gloves with the proceeds from the dry fruit sales. This is always a problem due to the low yields. Pineapples have a prickly skin, which without work clothes leads to cuts in the skin and inflammation. Many thanks to Fa. Haberkorn GmbH for providing rubber boots and gloves for the farmers of our cooperative and for work clothes for our employees in the factory.
We are supported by the two local installation companies Haustechnik Bruckner GmbH and ETG Energie- u. Sanitärtechnik GmbH for the planning of the components for the heating technology. Many thanks for your support.
To have success with our project, a professional internet presence is also crucial. Here the regional provider iPlace Internet & Network Services GmbH supports us with service and support directly in the area. Many thanks for sponsoring the webhosting.
Today the pineapples are peeled and cut with knives which is very time consuming. Our dryer has to be loaded at 10 o'clock in the morning to make the best use of solar energy. In order to work quickly and efficiently, we will use a stainless steel press for peeling and coring, and we will also use special equipment for cutting. With is equipment, we will meet international food standards. Many thanks to KRONEN GmbH for the initial equipment for peeling, coring and cutting.
All our equipment also had to be shipped safely to Uganda. Many thanks to Kühne + Nagel Ges.m.b.H. for the many valuable tips, the organisation and for subsidising the container transport.
We set the goal for ourselves, of realizing as much as possible of the added value in Uganda. Therefore, the cooperative will carry out the final packaging in 250 gram packets for our customers under protective gas atmosphere. This way we can ensure the shelf life of the delicious fruits, meet international food standards and avoid repackaging in Europe. By doing so, important know-how regarding the packaging of foodstuffs is passed on. MULTIVAC, as a global specialist for packaging solutions, supports our project. The small farmers' cooperative will receive a vacuum unit from MULTIVAC, including an appropriate protective gas device. Many thanks to MULTIVAC for this valuable contribution.
The supply of clean drinking water is an important component of the project. Our partner company All in Trade Ltd. will provide a solar-powered water pump and carry out the installation and maintenance. For this, our partner was supported by a joint fundraising campaign with the Managerohnegrenzen GmbH Foundation. Many thanks to Helene Prölß, managing director and founder of the foundation, for the top organization of the campaign. Many thanks to all the donors for the water pump.
Our Franz makes it possible for us to report about our project in such a detailed manner. It is a labor of love for him to donate so many valuable hours for our webpage, flyer, packaging and then some. Many thanks to Franz Kuttelwascher, Guerilla Marketing for your support.
